I was born on 1 October 1970 in a small town in the Netherlands, called Bergeijk. I grew up there in a nice family with two older sisters. When I was twelve I became an aunt for the first time. As a child I already loved nature kind and I often walked around in the woods with my father. After the MAVO I went to the Graphic Lyceum in Eindhoven and after finishing my school in 1991 I found a job as account executive at Gestel Printing Company in Eindhoven. During my year of internship I already met Corné and in 1992 we got married. The first years we lived in my hometown Bergeijk. In 1997 we made our first trip to Africa (more about this on the page “our travels”). Because of Corné’s job we moved to Boxtel. After many travels through Africa we decided to immigrate to South Africa and to start our own lodge (more about this on the page “our immigration”). After working 12 ½ years at a printing company I was ready for e new challenge.
Our three sons were born here in South Africa; Niels in September 2006, Dennis in December 2008 and Felix in April 2012. We like it very much here. I love nature and enjoy living in the bush, that's why I decided to stay here when Corné told me eind 2013 he wanted a divorce.
Besides my work on our Amukela Game Lodge I write articles for Plazilla, a website where you can find informative articles about all sorts of subjects. For an overview of the articles I wrote you can have a look on my Plazilla profile. On my facebook page you can find pictures of my family, the lodge and the animals amongst other things.
Further I like reading, drawing, photography and scrapbooking.
Regards from the bush
