Volunteer projects

In this area are many wildlife projects where they take care of animals in need. The best known are Moholoholo (a rehabilitation centre for animals) and the Cheetah project, where they breed with the endangered cheetahs. Bur there are many more projects, from rehabilitation for all sorts of animals and education of local people (Daktari), till specialised care for

and research of lions and baboons amongst others. Many of these projects offer the opportunity to do your internship there or to have a completely different holiday experience. Since these projects need money to survive, you will have to pay for this and for your stay there. The work is varies and is often fun to do. You get the chance to work with, and care for the animals and to get very close to them. Besides the work the projects usually offer excursions to the Kruger Park and the Blyde Canyon, so you can see the area while you stay here. At one of the projects here in Balule you can even get your guiding diploma. An overview of all possible projects you can find on the site of Kameleon Adventures. They can help you find the right project or projects for you and help you to organize everything. They will also be your contact person during your stay here.
